In his last position before joining the Office for Science in the Embassy of France, Hedi Haddada was a Research Director in the CNRS.

Hedi Haddada holds a Doctorat d’Etat es sciences (higher level French Ph'D) in immunology and cancerology, from the University of Paris 7 (1983).

He has been a visiting researcher in the National Institutes of Health (1984-1986), working on cancer development and viral genes.

Back in France, he has created a new lab, in 1991, within the CNRS « génétique des virus oncogènes » team, in the Institut Gustave Roussy. He was one of the first researchers to prove that gene transfer by means of an adenovirus in a pre-existing tumor can take place. 6 patents have been granted as a sequel of this research.

In 2002/2003 he was back at the NIH as a visiting researcher, in the NIH Vaccine Research Center. His research has then been focused on developing new vectors for HIV vaccination.

Back in France, he has been active in the coordinated research effort on HIV vaccines VIH/SIDA, and monitoring of clinical tests in ANRS.

 

Hedi Haddada has signed over 50 research publications, two dozens of journal papers, monitored ten Ph'D research projects, and taken part in two dozens of Ph'D, or research management thesis defense jurys.
